The Lupus Education Alliance Program (LEAP) is a research study being conducted by researchers at the Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, and the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Together, we have over a decade of experience in conducting research to help improve the lives of people living with lupus. Our team consists of clinicians and scientists with expertise in areas of epidemiology, public health, intervention research, and behavioral and community health. Our research staff have been exceptionally trained in all aspects of the study and can answer questions you may have about the study. Members of our Lupus Community Advisory Network (LCAN) include community stakeholders and people living with lupus who are actively involved in this research.

We are extremely committed to our mission to identify factors that can improve the health and well-being of all people living with lupus and protect them from COVID.

Lupus Community Advisory Network

The Lupus Community Advisory Network (LCAN) is a crucial component of the LEAP Study. The LCAN is a group of 20 stakeholders who are leaders in their communities, researchers, clinicians, or people living with lupus. The purpose of the LCAN is to inform the research questions we ask, guide the development of study protocols, and assist in interpreting and disseminating study findings. LCAN members meet on a regular basis to inform the design and progress of the LEAP Study.
